ROC van Amsterdam – Flevoland scores with Power App
Erasmus+ is an initiative of the European Commission. This subsidy program is widely applicable: students can spend two weeks in another European country, within the framework of a specific project, from a month to a year, to study an internship. You can also use it to gain knowledge and skills at a foreign school. Until recently, students of the ROC van Amsterdam – Flevoland (ROCvA-F) who want to use Erasmus+ had a solid, stable bump in the road. To apply for the grant, they fill out a hoop of forms. The ROC has tackled this with a Power App from Wortell. Reason enough for the main jury of the Computable Awards 2022 to nominate this Power App in the Education project category.
The application allows students to submit their grant application using a digital form, which has a line with eight dots at the top. If you click on such a bubble, you will arrive at the setup. In this way, the form is clearly divided into eight subjects, such as your own data, Contact person in case of emergency and data internship company. The student knows exactly where he or she is in the application process. Almost everything can be completed in English, so the ease of use is also practical in that overview. Designed as a solution Rootl a Power app. The completed application form will then be placed in SharePoint. With the push of a button, a contract can then be automatically linked and drawn up in Word format.
In the old situation, everyone was asked to print the internship contract and send it by post to those who had to sign it, including the internship supervisor abroad. All these persons must then return the document. That much often long. It would then have to wait for weeks on someone’s desk, ROCvA-F and the student in question. Initially, a digital application form was chosen, but that was not compatible with the existing systems. Wortell then went with a new digital system, which saves a lot of paper usage and allows students to complete the application process in manageable chunks. In the week of August 30, 2021, when the students returned from vacation, the Power App went live.
