Renouveau Bordeaux denounces “disinformation” by Pierre Hurmic
By SudOuest.fr
For the LREM group in the Metropolis, Pierre Hurmic claimed victory too soon by saying that Europe would not finance the LGV Bordeaux-Toulouse
On June 29, the European Commission published a list of 135 transport projects which will benefit from funds from the European Interconnection Facility. No trace of the Grand Projet du Sud Ouest (GPSO), i.e. the LGV between Bordeaux and Toulouse. It did not take more for the environmentalist mayor of Bordeaux Pierre Hurmic, opposed to the LGV, to prosper and affirm: “It is Europe that will prevent and not allow the project. »
“Disinformation” strikes Renouveau Bordeaux Métropole, the LREM group at the Métropole, in a press release. “The file on the GPSO project, presented to the European Commission, related only to the part of the studies to the tune of 17.3 million euros (out of a total of 2.8 billion). The Commission preferred to focus on more advanced dossiers. This absolutely does not call into question the financing of Europe for the project. The group of the presidential majority “is also surprised that the mayor of Bordeaux uses the image of the city to carry out his militant communication”.
Same observation for the centrist group at the Regional Council, in which sits the Bordeaux elected official Fabien Robert, who evokes “misleading and prejudiced communication” of elected environmentalists about the financing of the GPSO. Centrist elected officials are “convinced that Europe will be there to connect our region to southern Europe when the time comes”.
