Inflation in the eurozone accelerated to a new record in June, with Slovakia in fourth place
The growth of consumer prices accelerated again.
LUXEMBOURG. Consumer price inflation in the euro area accelerated again in June, with year-on-year inflation remaining a new record of 8.6 percent. The significant improvement in price growth was again mainly due to energy, which increased prices by almost 42 percent year on year.

According to Eurostat, annual inflation in the single currency was 0.55 percentage point higher in June than in May. According to the RTTNews server, Eurostat also exceeded the expectations of analysts, who calculated Data with an increase in inflation to 8.4 percent.
Energy prices were the most below the record rise in consumer prices. However, food prices have also risen sharply.
Energy prices rose by 41.9 percent year on year and prices of food, alcoholic beverages and tobacco products by 8.9 percent. In comparison, in May energy prices increased by 39.1 percent compared to the same period last year and prices of alcohol and tobacco products by 7.5 percent.
The highest year-on-year inflation rate was recorded in the Baltic countries in June. Inflation in Estonia 22 percent, in Lithuania 20.5 percent and Latvia 19 percent.
Slovakia finished behind them, with inflation 12.5 percent. The final data on inflation in the euro area for June will be published by Eurostat on 19 July.
