Heat: the heat wave peaked at over 40 degrees
Budapest – The national chief medical officer extended the third degree heat alert until midnight on Monday.
The heat wave peaked on Friday with a peak value of over 40 degrees Celsius, but the daily national heat record has not been broken, the National Meteorological Service announced on its Facebook page.
The national heat record for the first of July is still 41.3 degrees, which was measured in 1950 in Csongrád.

In the following days, however, the air will warm up again, and the temperature may rise to 39 degrees again on Monday.
