he invents a luminous jack to play petanque in the evening
It is a sacred invention for lovers of late pétanque, the one that continues while the barbecue is cooking… it is the luminous jack called the “cocholed”. Raphaël Paesa created this led jack in his small workshop at his home in Castelmaurou near Toulouse
La marseillaise à pétanque 2022, 61st edition of the world
A summer evening, an aperitif that lasts, a barbecue on the way and a game of pétanque that goes on forever.
– Hey Jean-Jacques, you play your ball, milediou!
And then comes the hour of merguez sausages. We put the balls down, we have dinner, we joke. Jean-Jacques talks to us for the umpteenth time about his memorable diamond one summer evening in 2015 at Montastruc-La-Conseillère… And presto, we resume the game. But now night falls and despite the public lighting, impossible to distinguish the jack! The game is over, we put away the balls bitterly and we listen to a new story about the endless exploits of the guy Jean-Jacques!
This is roughly the story that happened to Raphaël Paesa a few years ago.
This electronics technician, Geo Trouvetout in his spare time, decides to imagine a luminous jack. In his small laboratory located in Castelmaurou near Toulouse, he therefore had the idea of integrating LEDs into the jack. This is how the cocholé was born.
The cocholé is equipped with 4 LEDs for an autonomy of 4 hours. It was launched for sale in July 2021 at a price of 13 euros.
Since then, Raphaël Paesa has sold nearly 2,500 in France, but also in Germany, the United States and Peru. Sales had to cease in the spring due to lack of electronic components. But Raphaël Paesa is certain, it will be possible to buy very soon cocholeds on its website.
The story does not say if Jean-Jacques was conquered by the cocholé!
