Landslide in the area of the Tiroler Straße
Due to the large amounts of precipitation in a short time, a landslide occurred above the Tiroler Straße near Zirl (district of Innsbruck-Land). The Kössener Straße was also relocated after a mudslide.
Around 6.45 p.m. heavy rain alternated with hail in Zirl. Between Zirl and the hamlet of Eigenhofen, a slope began to slide and relocated the Tyrolean federal highway B171 at the height of the substation. The Schloßbach in Zirl also swelled noticeably. The main road had to be closed, according to the current information nobody was injured.
White fields in Leithen
It was not only hailing in Zirl, but also in Leithen, which belongs to Reith near Seefeld. Small mudslides occurred here and fields were white because they were covered by hail.
A mudslide was also reported near St. Johann in Tirol in the lowlands. Kössener Strasse is currently closed.
On Friday morning we examine the slope, then the further procedure is decided.
