He did it : the tightrope walker Nathan Paulin across the Seine a Rouen (Seine-Maritime), Friday July 1, 2022, on a strap stretched between the Cathedral and the tower of the archives a 90 meters high. His performance was seen by thousands of spectators gathered in town, divided between amazement, admiration and incomprehension.
An artistic performance
The thrill lasted forty minutes for the public, who watched the progress of the tightrope walker. The weather conditions were good. Nathan Paulin moved steadily towards his goal, pausing on his journey to ask for the public’s support, sit down, lie down or even hang from his thin 2cm strap.

The performance had an artistic character with the music of the opera orchestra playing from the Boieldieu bridge in the background. An atmosphere at odds with that of the world record that Nathan Paulin set at Mont-Saint-Michel over a distance of 2200 meters. It was all the same a sacred challenge in Rouen, taken up hands down for the slackliner to the cheers of onlookers. What a great way to launch the River Festival which will last all weekend.
