East-West Foundation: in Florence the new cultural center of ecology and sustainability

Last night, Thursday 30 June, the new space of the East West Foundation , at Gignoro. The company is among the founding members Probio always at his side in support of the numerous activities carried out. Also present were the director of Terra Nuova, Nicholas Bawtree and the editorial director of Terra Nuova, Mimmo Tringale.

Last night, Thursday 30 June, the new space of the East West Foundation , at Gignoro. Among the founding members is the Probios company which has always been at his side in support of the numerous activities carried out. Also present were the director of Terra Nuova, Nicholas Bawtree and the editorial director of Terra Nuova, Mimmo Tringale.

The Vice President of the Tuscany Region and Councilor for Agriculture Stefania Saccardi, the Councilor for Urban Planning of the Municipality of Florence Cecilia del Re, the President of the District Council 2 Michele Pierguidi participated in the cutting of the ribbon.

During the short debate, which was also attended by the president of Federbio Maria Grazia Mammuccini and the Slow Food regional coordinator Silvia Orlandithere president of the East West Foundation Rossella Bartolozzi he illustrated the project that will make the former disused industrial building in a cultural center of ecology and living in harmony with the environment in the continuous search for psycho-physical well-being.

The space will be dedicated to and will include neighborhood urban agriculture, the sale of organic products, the cultural space, the bookshop, debates and conferences, quality organic and vegetarian catering, coworking for green startups, event space.

The start of the works that will give life to the new building using sustainable materials and technologies, energy efficiency criteria, renewable sources, rational use of resources, reduced by the end of 2023. In the meantime, the building will live on resources events and demonstrations that will make it known to the city and will be triggering the regeneration process of lifestyles and bringing the green out of the niche in which it often finds itself. The space will be available to partners and to all those who share the values ​​of the East West Foundation, in a synergistic collaboration that will give life to events such as the one last night in which some producers of agri-food excellence of the territory have made their products available for a tasting of the highest quality, from herbal teas to perfumed infusions, from Tuscan oil to wines and beer, from pasta with legume flours to cereals, from artisanal ice cream to ancient grain pizza and finally a gourmet coffee….
