DeA CAPITAL FONDI ALTERNATIVI SGR through the IDeA CCR II Fund signs a partnership agreement with the Costa Edutainment Group
IDeA Corporate Credit Recovery II (“IDEA CCR II”), the second fund of Italian DIP (Debtor-in-Possession) Financing, managed by DeA Capital Alternative Funds SGR (a company of the DeA Capital Group) and the Costa Edutainment Group signed, have an agreement of partnerships to support the development of the company over the next few years. Costa Edutainment is a leader in Italy in the management of sites and large public and private structures dedicated to recreational, cultural, educational and scientific research activities and manages 10 structures at national and international level: the Aquarium of Genoa, one of the largest aquariums in Europe, the Biosphere, the Bigo panoramic lift and, from 2022, the City of children and young people. On the national territory the Cattolica Aquarium, the Oltremare, Aquafan and Italia in Miniatura parks on the Romagna Riviera, the Livorno Aquarium in Tuscany. It also manages the Mediterraneo Marine Park in Malta. Costa Edutainment welcomes around 3 million visitors a year in directly managed facilities. The signed operation provides for the entry into the capital of the Costa Edutainment Group of IDeA CCR II with a 10% share, thanks to a capital increase of Euro 5 million, as well as the introduction of financial resources by IDeA itself, illimity Bank SpA and the AZIMUT ELTIF Private Debt – Capital Solutions fund (“AZIMUT Capital Solutions”), managed by Muzinich & Co. SGR for Euro 35 million through the issue of a convertible bond loan. Giuseppe Costa remains at the helm of the Group. Andrea Varnier joins him in the role of Chief Executive Officer. Costa Edutainment was assisted by Pirola Corporate Finance as exclusive financial advisor and by the law firm Carbone D’Angelo for the legal aspects. Dea Capital was assisted by the law firm Molinari Agostinelli and by Spada Partners for the financial and tax due diligence, by the law firm De Luca & Partners for the labor law aspects. “The agreement signed with the Costa family makes it possible to further strengthen Costa Edutainment’s development path. Among these, he was until a few months ago in Dubai as CEO of The Experience – Richard Attias & Associates, a company specializing in the organization of major events and conferences at an international level, previously CEO of Filmmaster Events and Filmmaster Productions and counterpart in Rio De Janeiro in Cariocas 2016, the Brazilian consortium of which FIlmmaster Events was a partner, for the realization of the Olympic and Paralympic ceremonies, of the Olympic and Paralympic Torch Trip and of the Welcome Ceremonies for Rio 2016 Athletes.
