Dance company of refugee Ukrainians goes on tour and visits Amsterdam | NOW
Dance company The United Ukraine Ballet Company presents its first international performance. A month after the start, the dancers will tour with the performance Giselle and can be seen in both Amsterdam and London.
The company is part of The United Ukrainian Ballet Foundation, which helps refugee dancers from Ukraine with housing, employment and being able to continue dancing.
Giselle is a world famous ballet about a young girl with a weak heart and a passion for dancing. Choreographer Alexei Ratmansky and ballerina Igone de Jongh have created a new interpretation of the piece especially for The United Ukrainian Ballet Company.
The performance can be seen in Amsterdam from 23 to 28 August. Then the show moves to the London Coliseum on West.
Refugee Ukrainian dancers are received through both The Netherlands Center for Ukrainian Dancers The United Ukrainian Ballet Company has sheltered and helped with housing and employment.
With the aforementioned forms of dancers can get back into shape and the latter forms a meeting also become actual progress. Ballet dancer De Jongh is one of the initiators of the umbrella organization The United Ukrainian Ballet Foundation.
