Just eleven years ago, Charlène Wittstock said “yes” to Prince Albert II of Monaco. The then 33-year-old South African swimmer married the Monegasque sovereign 20 years her senior and became the new princess that Monegasques had been waiting for for so many years. The day after their civil marriage described on 1uh July 2011, a religious ceremony united them before God and a whole floor of invitations among which many crowned heads.

Last year, the princely couple could not celebrate their 10e wedding anniversary on the Rock as he wished. At the beginning of July 2021, suffering from serious ENT problems and consequently unable to travel by air, the mother of Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella was still stranded in South Africa. She had undergone several complicated operations there, the last of which was only on June 23.

But this year, everything is different. After a long convalescence, Princess Charlene has found her husband and children, the Principality and a smile.
