At approximately 5 p.m., Tuesday, October 19, 2021, when a 20 m van3 enters the ring road at Hérouville-Saint-Clair, towards the University Hospital of Caen (Calvados), she was slightly hit by a Twisto bus driving on the expressway. The two vehicles therefore leave the ring road in order to complete an amicable report, the superficial damage. The incident could have been banal if Omar*, the driver of the van, had not raged against the driver of the bus, to such an extent that the latter ended up taking refuge in his vehicle while waiting for the arrival of the police.
The bus radio was left on
The remarks with which he is accused at the correctional hearing on Thursday June 30, 2022, Omar has a hard time contesting them because the bus driver had left his radio on. We hear: “You big pig of m.., go niq.. your mother! Son of a bitch, dirty dog! You’re just a m…, co…! Take off your mask, you’re in trouble because I’m going to have your head! You are very sick! I’m going the b… me, your mother! “.
And as, between two invectives, he has to spit, we hear him vociferate: “I don’t spit!” I sputter! “. On the other hand, we see that despite the insults, the bus driver tries to reason with him.
He was carrying medical equipment
President Bénédicte Delgove tries to understand the origin of this violence. “You forced him to pass on the ring road, you are in the wrong and you are unleashed? she wonders. To this, the defendant replies:
I’m used to driving this van. If I inserted myself, it was because I could. He could have avoided me, it just pissed me off.
He explains that he was transporting surgical equipment for the CHU and that since this incident, he has lost his job. A dozen mentions appeared in his record as well as some firm sentences for carrying a weapon, violence, drug trafficking…
Amended days
Omar, a 41-year-old Moroccan national, is sentenced to 60 days and fined 5 euros. He will also have to pay 1,000 euros to the bus driver for his moral damage and 973 euros in legal costs.
*Assumed first name.
