End of 2022, June bike path to link to Eterville and Caen (Calvados) via Mesnil de Louvigny. It is in any case the ambition of the mayor of Eterville, Thierry Saint, who has been fighting for this project for years.
“The development of cycle paths is a Caen la mer project,” he explains. The scheme was revised in 2016, and I insisted that Eterville get help. Finally, thanks to aid from Caen la mer, the State, Europe and the Department, the project is fully funded. It cost around 500,000 euros, less than expected. »
Already visible markings
This track will pass through the two roundabouts allowing entry to the ring road, and the materialization of the route is already visible. “There are many small wooden posts at the end of the rose which demonstrated the progress of the work”, continues Thierry Saint.
It now remains to determine exactly when the work will be carried out, which will interfere with a very busy road axis in the south of the agglomeration.
A second project towards Verson
In addition to this route, the town is developing a second to reach Verson. “It will not be ready before 2025-2026”, specifies the mayor.
A cycling plan is also being put in place in Eterville, with the aim of “connecting all the districts to each other by correctly securing the circuits and carrying out road prevention”. »
