Toulouse along the water
To (re)discover the Pink City and find a bit of freshness in the heart of summer, go to Port de la Daurade to board one of the Bateaux Toulousains and go on a cruise in the heart of Toulouse! The 30-minute commented walk begins with the Bazacle walk. Then we pass in front of the old hospital of La Grave and its famous dome, and the Hôtel-Dieu to the prairie of Filtres.
Toulouse at night
The one-hour cruise also allows you to pass the Saint-Pierre lock to take the Brienne canal, taking advantage of the coolness of its beautiful vegetal vault as far as the Ponts-Jumeaux where the Maison Nougaro barge is moored. . The nocturnal cruise (40 minutes on the Garonne) is a great spectacle with the view of the Toulouse brickwork kissing at sunset or of the sparkling monuments in the setting of the night.
Beware of pirates!
To prolong these magical moments, you can combine the loops on the Garonne with a meal at the nearby Brasserie des Beaux-Arts. It perpetuates the tradition of Parisian brasseries in its decor mixing Art Deco and Belle Époque.
Children (6 to 11 years old) will surely prefer the “Pirates” cruise, departing from Port Saint-Sauveur, with a puzzle game to discover to find out who stole the Captain’s chest…
Gourmet cruises
Let’s taste a meal on the water! For example on the Péniche Horizon moored at Port Viguerie and which offers gourmet cruises on the Garonne every day in summer. Either for aperitif or dinner, or also for lunch on weekends.
You can also combine gastronomy and romance in a boat-restaurant gliding along the peaceful waters of the Canal du Midi.
Women at the helm!
Tel L’Occitania moored opposite the Matabiau station and which offers different formulas from morning to evening all year round. At the controls, three women, Marie-Louise the chef, Layla the hostess and Corinne the captain who comments on the ride. Finally, you can take the helm of a small electric boat without a license from Port Viguerie (aperitif basket optional).
