The Corrida charity race is making a comeback in Toulouse –
After two years of cancellation due to the health crisis, La Corrida, a charity course for disabled or sick children, is making its big comeback in Toulouse this Friday, July 1. Two routes, of three and ten kilometres, are offered.
It is still time to register. The bullfight, charity course organized in Toulouse for children with disabilitiesreturns to the Pink City for a 21st edition this Friday, July 1, after two years of cancellation due to the context of the health crisis.
The all profits will be donated to two associations : Little heart of butterwhich supports people born with a heart defect, and Dominica, which support parents and their children with disabilities. During the last edition, donations reached 13,000 euros.
Two routes of three and ten kilometers
Two routes are offered. the first, of three kilometers, takes place in the hypercentre of Toulouse, with a start given at 8 p.m. on the Place du Capitole. The runners make a passage on the rue d’Alsace Lorraine, then a detour in the direction of the Saint-Sernin basilica to go to the place de la Daurade. They will then take rue Peyrolières before going up rue d’Alsace Lorraine again to reach the Capitole.
The second race, of ten kilometers, will start at 9 p.m. at the same starting point. The runners cover the center of Toulouse in a loop before reaching the Saint-Sernin basilica, cross the rue Valade to take the Saint-Pierre bridge, visit Saint-Cyprien and return by the Pont Neuf, go to the Palais de Justice and return, by the rue d’Alsace Lorraine, to the Capitole.
With family, friends, colleagues…
Runners can register for the team raceinasmuch as members of a company or family, but also among friends. Five trophies are then named: trophy for the high-performance company (the fastest), trophy for the solidarity company (which has the lowest gap times in the race), trophy for the small company (for the structures of less than 20 employees), Family trophy (where the three best times are selected) and Team trophy (even chosen, between friends).
The center of Toulouse will be closed for the race
No fewer than 5,000 runners are expected. So pour ensure their safety, the streets, alleys and other roads in downtown Toulouse will be closed throughout the evening, from 7:30 p.m. to the crossing of the finish line of the last runner.
Rue d’Alsace Lorraine, Rue de Rémusat, Place Saint-Pierre, Rue Peyrolières, Rue de Metz, Place de la Trinité, Rue du Taur, Place Saint-Sernin, Pont Saint-Pierre, the Pont Neuf, are part of it.
