The target of the phishing attack on Thursday was the Brno City Hall. The fake e-mail states that it shares a document with the municipal staff. You need to log in to view it. A fake e-mail with this wording and a link to the alleged attachment is now being received by the Office’s staff, but also by journalists or people who have communicated with the Office. The municipality warns that people will not respond to this e-mail and will not write their data anywhere.

As in some cases it is problematic to identify the risk, the employees of the municipality decided to draw attention to the case. “It seems that the list of secondary targets is taken from the directory of municipal employees, so those who communicate with the office on a regular basis are more at risk. No other system was affected with e-mail training. At the moment, we have no reports that the personal data of employees or clients of the city or the operation of agenda information systems that provide services to citizens would be compromised.
