Slovakia is experiencing a wave of extremely warm weather, which is breaking temperature records and will be even warmer. The hottest day of this week is ahead of us. On Friday evening, the wave of extremely hot weather is interrupted by storms that hit Slovakia from the west and will also bring more intense storms.

We are experiencing a truly unusual heat wave. The weather in our territory is affected by the pressure altitude, which extends over Eastern Europe and extends over the Black Sea to the Mediterranean. It is essential that extremely warm air flows towards us from the south on its back.

And it is this extremely warm air that causes us to experience a wave of extreme heat in our territory. Temperatures in our territory climb in many places above the limit of +30 ° C, while quite often temperatures exceed the limit of +35 ° C.

The heat wave is graduating in our territory. On Thursday, the temperature in Slovakia reached +38.8 ° C, which has never happened before in history. We are thus experiencing the warmest June in the history of meteorological measurements and it is almost certain that it will be even warmer on Friday. Temperatures will attack up to the limit of +40 ° C.

The heat wave peaks before the storms

The end of the working week and the first day of July should be the warmest in our territory. As we mentioned, the temperature is likely to exceed +39 and in the southeast, temperatures can attack up to an extreme level of +40 ° C.

All this will happen in front of the approaching cold front, which is already beginning to affect the weather in Europe and, during the fifth weather, in our area.

The heat will end strong storms

Friday will bring sunny weather and very warm weather to our territory, but in the afternoon, especially in the mountainous areas of central Slovakia, heat storms were produced. Above all, the tie will bring more heavy rain.

In the meantime, a cold front with storms will approach our territory from the west. Intense storms want to form on Friday afternoon and evening over Austria and the Czech Republic. There will be torrential rain, the nearest wind and, exceptionally, there may be multicellular or supercellular storms, which can produce hail.

The essential for us will begin in the early evening and evening over Austria. Storms will form here, which should reach our territory before midnight.

The storms over Slovakia will advance in the first half of the night and during the night they will move further east. Night storms will be accompanied by torrential rain and always wind in our territory.

However, Friday’s storms will also be somewhat positive. They will break the wave of extreme heat. On Saturday, they were also compared to Friday in our territory by 8 ° C. However, do not expect significant cooling. Temperatures will always be around the +30 ° C limit.
