Natural swimming pool Prague: Where is the water clean?
Water quality has improved in the Motol swimming pool in Prague 5. While in early June the hygienists stated that the water in the pond was cloudy, they now rated it with the highest mark. Water samples for subsequent hygienic analysis were last taken on Monday, June 20.
Hygiene workers took samples on the same day from the natural swimming pools Hostivař, Džbán and Šeberák. In these bodies of water, the water is cloudy, but according to hygienists, bathing is still suitable and the risk of health problems after bathing is low.
Harmful cyanobacteria occur every year in the reservoirs on the Botiči stream in Hostivař and in the Šeberák pond on the outskirts of Kunratice. In 2020, hygienists detected the presence of green bacteria in the dam next to the Hostivař forest park in May. Last year, hygienists confirmed the presence of cyanobacteria in the dam in Hostivař in July and did not recommend bathing to people with sensitive skin in Šeberák either. The bathing ban applied in the second half of last summer holidays due to overgrown cyanobacteria in the Džbán swimming pool on the Litovický stream.
Closed Pitcher
The Džbán swimming pool is closed to visitors this year. The company Molepo, which owns the land of the water reservoir, announced the closure of the complex in January and justified the need for reconstruction. The company wanted to finance the repairs of the swimming pool from the money obtained by building apartments on part of the land at Evropská Street. However, the Prague City Hall refused the necessary change to the zoning plan for the construction, and representatives of the city management announced that the companies would discuss the possibility of buying land into the city’s property or exchanging it for other plots. The city has not yet submitted a proposal for exchange or repurchase.
Cyanobacteria are substances that can cause serious allergic reactions. Depending on the sensitivity, the smoker may develop rashes, red eyes, runny nose and difficulty breathing. They also produce toxins, in case of very severe poisoning, depending on hygiene, permanent liver damage can occur. To multiply the body in warm weather.
