LMS | Baptiste Bonnefond commits to Toulouse
The Toulouse club announces this afternoon that it has hired left-back Baptiste Bonnefond for next season.
Returned in the spring from Belarus after the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, Baptist Bonnefond had put down his suitcases for a few months Nimes, as a medical joker. But the freelance was not intended to last beyond the eight league games played (16 goals).
And it’s finally Toulouse that the 29-year-old left-back will bounce back. Trained in Montpellier and passed through Aix en Provence, Bonnefond had chosen to go into exile at Meshkov Brest last summer. But the war changed his plans and forced him to return to France.
The 2018 Champions League winner with MHB will numerically replace Serbian left-back Uros Borzas, who opted to leave Toulouse after two seasons to pursue his career at Elverum, Norway. “I believe that the work done over the past few years, beyond being “talent scouts”, we now have the capacity to welcome the best players, rejoices the president of Fenix Philippe Dallard. Baptiste is a great French player with a great European experience. This signing will allow us to reach another level, and launch the 2022/2023 season in the best possible way. Bonnefond signed for one season.
