Laurent Vaysse: In Toulouse like a fish in water
He could have put on the white coat and worked in research. The meetings and “a lot of chance” decided otherwise. Today at the head of the company Tac-Eau, the primaubois specializes in water treatment. An essential profession largely ignored by the general public.
What do a mechanic, a surgeon and the Albi glassworks have in common? Everyone needs water to do their job. But not just any. “Normal” for the mechanic, sterilized for health professionals or likely to leave no trace after washing as required by most glassmakers, this water needs to be treated to meet such requirements.
This is where Laurent Vaysse comes in, Primaubois by birth who moved to the Pink City – “probably the best equipped city in France” – to embark on the adventure of entrepreneurship. His specialty, water treatment. “It is a profession unknown to the general public but whose usefulness, in particular from a health point of view, is no longer to be proven.”
At the head of the TAC-eau company since 2011, the trained chemist – who could have put on a white coat and embarked on research – kindly makes his boat. “When I took over the company, the water treatment component generated 150,000 euros in turnover. We reached one million euros this year.” Not bad for a service company.
From air conditioning to heating
But what service are we talking about? “We will provide all the equipment, chemicals and services necessary to ensure the use of water in buildings with professionals. In hospitals, we will supply the sterilization networks with reverse osmosis water. Treat the heating and air conditioning circuits. Clearing the sludge. Treating the networks following contamination of the Legionella type… In this case, we propose the diagnosis, the analysis and the solution to the problem if necessary.”
The company deployed in Quint-Fonsegrives has also just filed patents for an automatic sludge removal system. “We are the only ones to offer such a system in France… for the moment.”
In Toulouse, Tac-Eau works with university hospitals (CHU), CNRS, colleges and high schools, nursing homes, clinics. “Toulouse and its surrounding area generated 60% of our turnover” validates the Primaubois who likes to return to the country to offer the Aveyronnais the services of his young company.
“It’s always a pleasure to go there where I keep a few historic clients.” Remains for Laurent Vaysse, beautiful memories of football weekends with friends. “I had to stop following a health problem but I now train my son’s team.” For Laurent Vaysse, the water will not stop flowing under the bridges.
