Klemens Hallmann receives a Grand Decoration of Honor for services to the Republic of Austria
Vienna (OTS) – Entrepreneur, investor and real estate developer Klemens Hallmann was today awarded the Grand Decoration of Honor of the Republic of Austria for his ongoing support of social, artistic and cultural initiatives. The award ceremony took place in the presence of numerous personalities from the local art and culture scene as well as from business and politics in Vienna’s Albertina – host Klaus Albrecht Schröder held the laudatory speech. Section head Jürgen Meindl presented one of the country’s most important awards on behalf of the Federal President.
Klemens Hallmann, one of the leading local entrepreneurs, real estate developers and investors, was honored today for his many years of commitment and support in the field of art and culture at national and international level as well as sport: Section head Jürgen Meindl from the Federal Ministry presented the award on behalf of Federal President Van der Bellen for art, culture, public service and sport the Grand Decoration of Honor for services to the Republic of Austria. The ceremony was accompanied by numerous personalities from the art and culture scene such as Niclas Castello, Mario Dalpra, Christoph Palaschke, Hans Mahr and well-wishers from politics and business such as Johanna Mikl-Leitner (Governor of Lower Austria), Dr. Gerd Müller (General Director of UNIDO and former German Federal Minister) or Andrei Galbur (diplomat and former Deputy Prime Minister of Moldova).

In his laudatory speech, Prof. Dr. Klaus Albrecht Schröder, as the host of the Albertina, the importance of promoting art and culture, especially in these times: “Today’s award honors what Klemens Hallmann has done unselfishly for the general public and society and is at the same time an incentive for later achievements. After all, with economic success comes greater responsibility towards society. As a sponsor of art and culture, Klemens Hallmann enables artistic and sporting excellence.

“Art and culture are a mirror of the world and important for people and society. Art connects and can conduct a dialogue across all borders. I therefore see it as my responsibility to promote these areas wherever possible and also to support them in an advisory or creative manner. Youth promotion, climate protection, social issues, the commitment to a culture of responsibility in Europe are just like art, the issues are closely intertwined and form an essential part of my life. I find that in order to move forward as a society, it is not only important to constantly reflect on ourselves. It is also our job to give back, wherever we can.”

Art and culture connects, creates identity
The promotion of art and culture has always been particularly important to Hallmann: As the main partner and presenter of the most important European culture prize TAURUS, Hallmann takes into account its commitment to the further development of the European cultural landscape. In addition, the film production company Hallmann Entertainment Company together with Filmhouse Germany and its subsidiaries and other participations in the film sector have won a total of around 70 awards for film productions and their actors in the past ten years alone.
In addition, the investor and entrepreneur places particular emphasis on working with young people. The “UNODC Youth Initiative” supported by the UN is pleased about regular funding and active support from Hallmann with the aim of giving young people a strong voice. Also in sports: Hallmann promotes various youth and student teams in basketball, football and other sports as the main sponsor and supporter. The work with schoolchildren and young people is particularly close to his heart, because the currently around 1,000 young people are taught the game as well as mutual respect, fair play and team spirit.

Republican award
The Grand Decoration of Honor for Services to the Republic is one of the most important awards in Austria. Only people who provide achievements and excellent services for the excellent home country are considered. The award is made by the Federal President personally or on his behalf. In addition, Klemens Hallmann has already been awarded the Pro Merito Melitensi Order of Merit by the Sovereign Order of Malta and the Red Cross Medal of Merit for his social and humanitarian commitment.
