Imports and exports of goods also apply to individuals crossing the Finnish-Russian border

Both imports to Finland and exports to Russia are restricted
The entry restrictions in force at Finland’s external borders due to the coronavirus pandemic will be lifted on 30 June, and from 1 July the situation before the pandemic will return to health. However, the operation of customs is affected by the sanctions imposed by the EU on Russia and their control is carried out as part of normal customs control.

EU sanctions on Russia prohibit the direct or indirect sale, import or transfer of Russian petroleum products or petroleum products imported from Russia. Therefore, for the time being, passengers are only allowed to import fuel from Russia in the regular tank of a motor vehicle. Excess fuel must not be brought in a mobile container or can in a separate vehicle.
In addition, spirits such as whiskey, rum, gin, vodka and liqueurs are not currently allowed to be imported into Finland from Russia. Light alcoholic beverages, such as beer and wine, may still be imported in limited quantities for personal use or as a gift.
For example, passengers arriving in Finland by car or bus can bring taxes and duty-free purchases of up to 300 euros in their personal luggage.
So-called luxury goods, ie products with a value of more than 300 euros per piece, may not be exported from Finland to Russia. Such products include smartphones, sports equipment and jewelry, as well as many clothing and accessories. Exceptions are, for example, electronic transmissions with a value limit of EUR 750; musical instruments the value of which does not exceed EUR 1 500 per piece; and certain optical equipment, such as binoculars and sights, the export of which is prohibited, whatever their value. The value limit of the vehicles is 50,000 euros.
Import and export regulations in the destination country can change quickly, and you should always check with the authorities of that country to see which regulations apply. Passengers are also urged to stay up-to-date on the restrictions on the coronavirus in Russian border traffic, the implementation of which is the responsibility of the Russian authorities.
