Foot OM – Sofiane Diop, OM asks for a huge gift from Monaco
Despite Pablo Longoria’s efforts, OM’s transfer window is struggling to take off, which is starting to irritate Jorge Sampaoli more specifically.
Wednesday morning, the players of Olympique de Marseille had an appointment at the Robert Louis-Dreyfus training center for the resumption of training. Only one recruit was present on this occasion: Samuel Gigot, whose signature was completed in January from Spartak Moscow. This does little to satisfy the demanding Jorge Sampaoli, who expects at least five reinforcements during this summer transfer window. Pablo Longoria is doing his best to provide the OM coach with the players he needs. And according to Foot Senegal, the president of Olympique de Marseille is digging a track as ambitious as it is surprising since Sofiane Diop is targeted by the Marseille club. Substitute in Monaco since the room of Philippe Clément in January in place of Niko Kovac, he is one of the most talented players of his generation.
OM try for Sofiane Diop
Author of 9 goals and 7 assists last season in all competitions despite his downgrade in January, Sofiane Diop is a player whose profile is greatly appreciated by Pablo Longoria and Jorge Sampaoli. The French under-21 international is as capable of playing on one side as he is in support of the striker in the centre, a versatility that is very pleasing to the OM staff, who see in him the potential successor to Amine Harit, loaned last season by Schalke 04 and whose return to Marseille is still uncertain. Still, for the time being, it is very hard to imagine Monaco giving up one of its most talented players to a direct competitor for the podium. Bold on the transfer market, Pablo Longoria does not want to go all out and is considering submitting a loan offer with an option to buy to ASM. It is now a question of seeing what the Monegasque leaders will think of this offer but also of knowing what state of mind Sofiane Diop is in with a view to next season.
