Florence, the municipal council and the top of the administrative technical structure reorganized
The Mayor of FlorenceDario Nardella, has given a mandate to the offices to prepare the documents for one reorganization of the council and the top management of the technical structure.
Among the novelties, the delegation to Culture is entrusted to the deputy mayor Alessia Bettini. Two new entries then in addition: Maria Federica Giuliani and Andrea Giorgio. Alessandro Martini stays on the team with a new assignment in Metropolitan City for follow the strategic plan of Greater Florencesubject that he had already followed as a city councilor.
The new composition of the junta sees this for the first time more women than men6 and 4 respectively.
“After the turning point of the second term and the ballot vote I found it necessary and useful to start a reorganization of the top of the technical structure and of the municipal council – explained the mayor Dario Nardella – The reorganization of the council responds to four objectives: first of all bring the number of councilors back to 10with a great historical novelty: in the new composition of the council there will be 6 women and 4 men for the first time, e the delegation to culture will be entrusted to the institutionally more authoritative figure after the mayor or the deputy mayor. Second point: the team will have fresh energy, with two new assessors, to face with ever more vigor the many trials we face, from policies to new projects for the city. Third point: I wanted politically strengthen the junta by enhancing the different political sensibilities of the Democratic Party in harmony with the strategy of the secretary Enrico Letta. And finally the goal of reorganize the proxies with a redistribution so that each member is able to dare the best of himself in his work“.

“The reorganization of the technical management – concluded the Mayor – to assist the general manager Giacomo Parenti with three experienced deputy directors and to strengthen 2 strategic directors for the administration, namely the tramway office and the procurement and contracts office. In this way we organize before the summer break to demonstrate them for the government of Florence with the utmost unity, compactness and efficiency ”.
On Monday 4 July the Mayor will communicate to the City Council about the reorganization of the council and of the technical top management.
The reorganization of the top of the technique is supported by the general manager Giacomo Parenti three deputy directors who deal with the coordination structure of specific areas: Lucia Bartoli, Domenico Palladino and Vincenzo Tartaglia. The main novelty is the strengthening of the tramway sector with the inclusion of an additional managerial figure and the strengthening of technical coordination with the inclusion of a deputy director in the light of the numerous interventions financed with European and ministerial funds. Another important novelty is the centralization, as already done for tenders on public works, also for those on services and furniture beyond the European threshold.
