A truck driver died in an accident on the A2 near Hanover yesterday evening. He drove into a traffic jam with almost no brakes. Traffic is backing up on the autobahn in the direction of Berlin.
Between Kreuz Hannover-Buchholz and Kreuz Hannover-Ost, the clean-up work continues on two of the three lanes, traffic is backed up. Drivers who know the area are encouraged to drive around the area. According to the fire brigade, the truck driver drove his semi-trailer truck into a truck that was standing at the end of the traffic jam on Wednesday evening. The driver’s cab of the truck was crushed and separated from the chassis. The driver was trapped in his cab and died at the scene of the accident.
Trucks stop across the lane
According to the fire department, the two trucks wedged into each other and slid against another truck. The vehicles then stopped across the road. The truck involved in the accident had loaded an excavator and a trailer, both of which fell onto the roadway. The other two truck drivers were reportedly unharmed.
