Caritas Luxembourg publishes its political demands
Caritas Luxembourg has published a series of demands available to political parties in the context of the next legislative elections which are due to take place in October 2023.
In a 28-page document
, Caritas Luxembourg details the essential measures to be taken to improve the daily lives of the most vulnerable people in Luxembourg society. Unsurprisingly, the measures mainly concern access to affordable housing, the reduction of poverty and inequality, the fight against child precariousness and working poverty, and the country’s asylum and migration policy. Without forgetting climate policy, the digital divide, homelessness and social exclusion.
“The proposals are the result of internal reflection work where Caritas Luxembourg has tried to trace the field experience of its employees who are in daily contact with the most vulnerable people in our society and who see where the rubs and what could be done to improve the situation of all these peopleā, underlines the NGO in a press release.
In the detail of its demands, Caritas has identified nine challenges to be met while accompanying them with measures “very pragmatic and very targeted and which can be put in place in a fairly reasonable period of time”, still assures the NGO.
