Great success for the cross-university and university symposium “The future in (y)our hands” on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 in the main lecture hall of the Medical University as part of the university & university study Sustainably healthy – From Science 2 Highschool & University.

That Symposium by students for students about the future of human and planetary health was organized as a cooperation event by: the university representation of Medical University Innsbruck (MUI) in the organizing lead, the Institute for didactic and educational research and development (IFE) the University of Education Tyrol (PHT) in the scientific lead and the Institute for Sports Science (ISW) of the Leopold‐Franzens University Innsbruck with lectures from the attractive Science Slam lecture format.

A total of 180 students followed (in particular from the fields of medicine/healthcare professions, teaching/education), experienced doctors and teachers, as well as lecturers/professors, those young at heart and multipliers from a wide variety of disciplines and Colleges/universities locally and worldwide the invitation to the varied hybrid evening event with short impulse lectures by internationally renowned experts from Denmark and the USA (Dr. Martin Weber, Head of WHO health behavior of school children (HBSC) survey; dr Michael Klaper, advance medicine) and experts from Austria (Dr. Bernd Haditsch, ÖGK, medical director preventive check-up; Professor Clemens Drenowatz, University of Education Upper Austria) together with young doctors and doctoral students in sports pedagogy/didactics from Tyrol.
