Basket: the nice shot of Asvel which hires Nando De Colo for two seasons
The disappointment of Tony Parker and his club after the departure of Victor Wembanyama will have been short-lived. The day after the announcement of the end of the collaboration with the young 18-year-old prodigy, the president of Asvel, champion of France last Saturday, announced that he would find in his team the one with whom he had conquered the title of European champion 2013 in blue: Nando De Colo, for two seasons.
The 35-year-old point guard and fullback had been playing for Turkish club Fenerbahçe SK since 2019. After his debut in Cholet, he then moved to Spain in Valencia (winner of the EuroCoupe in 2010) before trying his luck in the NBA with the San Antonio Spurs alongside TP in 2009. His experience on the North American continent ended with the Toronto Raptors in 2014 and it was in Europe that the player rebounded.
Between 2014 and 2019, he made CSKA Moscow happy with whom he won the EuroLeague in 2016 (MVP of the Final Four) and 2019. Last summer, Nando De Colo was Olympic vice-champion with the France team at the Tokyo Games. He remains on a Turkish championship title, and a national cup (2020) with the Istanbul club.
“It is with great pride that we welcome Nando to our team, reacts Tony Parker. First of all, I want to owe it to the confidence placed in our project. It is of course part of our desire and aims to see the best French players evaluated in our championship, but also to allow ASVEL to shine on the European scene. »
