The international terror simulation carried out at the La Enira Operational Training Center in the city of Linares, Jaén, Spain was funded by the European Union within the ASSISTANCE project.
The aim of the project is to support and protect the personnel of different types of first aid organizations working together in the containment of major (natural or man-made) disasters and to improve their skills and abilities to deal with complex situations in the dealing with different types of incidents.
The exercise also involved the R&D service of the Logistics and Innovation Sub-Directorate of the National Police, as well as other European first responders such as firefighters from Sweden, Switzerland and the Netherlands, and emergency medical teams from Turkey, among others.
They were joined by companies and research and development institutions from several European countries.
Augmented reality media were used, allowing analysis of the images to identify the victims of the event, as well as real-time signaling of evacuation routes and routes to be avoided.
It also made it possible to identify the suspects and to locate possible explosives or CBRN agents at the crime scene.
The news of the international terror simulation follows the Spanish National Police taking to their social media to share the security measures set for the 2022 NATO Summit in Madrid, which will take place from Tuesday 28th June to Thursday 30th June takes place.
