SNCF traffic between Toulouse and Pau heavily disrupted by a social movement from July 1
Five days before the national call for a strike at the SNCF for an “urgent” increase in wages, another social movement is coming to Occitania, from July 1. It should seriously disrupt traffic between Toulouse and Pau as well as the yellow train line.
Disruptions are to be expected from Friday July 1, on the SNCF line between Toulouse and Pau, as well as on the yellow train line. This is what the SNCF announced on Wednesday via its Twitter account lio Train SNCF Occitanie.
A social movement would therefore be at the origin of these disturbances. Very local demands, which should not disturb the other lines in the region, assure SNCF Occitanie. And unrelated, it seems, with the call for a national strike launched by the unions of railway workers Sud-Rails, CGT-railway workers and CFDT-railway workers for an “urgent” increase in wages. The notice provided for the beginning of a social movement on July 6, on the eve of the summer holidays.
According to the trade unions, wages at SNCF have not been increased since 2014.
SNCF CEO Jean-Pierre Farandou wants to be reassuring for travelers and holidaymakers. He declared on Tuesday June 28 that departures on vacation were “not threatened” despite this call for a strike to influence wage negotiations, assuring that the paths would be increased.
“Yes, there will be something, we discuss it“, he assured.
