Parking in the capital will become more expensive from autumn

Budapest – Instead of the current complicated, 27 parking zones, the Budapest Municipality will introduce a transparent, bright, unified parking system consisting of four zone types, and will also increase parking fees – the majority of the Budapest General Assembly has decided

The General Assembly drew up a new parking decree with 22 votes in favor and 7 against, according to which four zones will be defined in the capital, parking in zone A will cost 600 forints per hour and will be paid between 8 and 10 p.m., in zone B. The hourly rate is HUF 450 between 8 am and 8 pm, in zone C between HUF 300 and 8 am and 6 pm, and in zone D between HUF 8 am and 8 pm and 6 pm.

Up to three hours can be parked in ABC zones, this is not restricted in zone D.

Current parking fees range from 175 to 525 forints. The new regulation will take effect on the first Monday, September 5th.

As part of the new parking system, uniform information boards will also appear on the streets, so the characteristics of each parking zone must be clearly defined. designed for 10 women in the area of ​​parking toll zones.

The majority of the General Assembly did not support the amendment proposal of the Fidesz-KDNP faction that parking in the capital should be paid from half past nine instead of 8 am.
