OM Mercato: Jorge Sampaoli’s deputy will leave Marseille
After several weeks of vacation, Olympique de Marseille resumed training this Wednesday with a well-defined objective. Qualified for the next Champions League, OM intends to have a great 2022-2023 season, both in the league and on the European scene. To succeed in this mission, the Marseillais will need several sizeable reinforcements. The leaders of OM are well aware of this and are working hard to offer a very competitive squad to Jorge Sampaoli.
Several recruits are therefore expected in Marseille in the coming days. The names of Riechedly’s Bazoer and Isaac Toure are mentioned among the potential recruits of OM. But before the arrival of new reinforcements, the Argentine coach is about to lose one of his direct collaborators. According to information obtained by Provence, Inigo Dominguez, Sampaoli’s assistant, will leave the Marseille club. His departure would already be recorded internally.
OM Mercato: Iñigo Dominguez on his way to Qatar
Arrived at Olympique de Marseille in March 2021, Inigo Dominguez should therefore not go through with his contract expiring in June 2023. Despite the qualification of OM for the next Champions League, the Spanish technician has decided to give a new direction to his career. According to the local newspaper, the 43-year-old man should leave the Marseille club in order to assist his compatriot Juanma Lillo at Al Sadd in Qatar.
His departure should be formalized in the coming days. This will therefore leave a void at Olympique de Marseille that will have to be filled quickly. Coach Jorge Sampaoli knows this and has already started looking for a new assistant coach for the coming season. But this mission promises to be very complicated.
