Bayern star Mané announces return to Salzburg – football
Superstar Sadio Mane continues to have very good contacts with Salzburg. Now he reveals that he will soon return to the city of Mozart.
Superstar Sadio Mane’s move to Bayern Munich has been official since last week. The Senegalese moves from Liverpool to Munich for a transfer fee of 32 million euros. The transfer fee could increase by a further nine million euros through performance-related bonuses.
In an interview with the German “Sportbild”, the 30-year-old emphasizes that his relationship with ex-club Salzburg is still good: “Many people from Salzburg congratulated me on moving to Bayern.”
Mane has communicated several times that he has never broken off contact with the cops. Before his Reds’ Champions League duel against ex-club Salzburg in 2019, the offensive star showed his attachment to the club and the region to “Sky”: “Yes, this is a special game for me. Salzburg is my city. Austria is special, I love the country.”
At that time, the 91-time team player said that he was always visiting Salzburg: “I can’t go two or three months without going there because they are still my family. I was there just a few weeks ago, had dinner with Christoph Freund.”
Even after his Bayern transfer work, Mane will visit his “old love” again: “I’ll definitely go there in the summer. It’s not far from Munich.”
Bulls as a stepping stone
Mane came to the city of Mozart from the French club FC Metz in 2012, followed by becoming an absolute top performer straight away. Two years later, the star striker joined Premier League club Southampton. The English paid a whopping 23 million euros for the winger’s services. However, the transfer overview is not without background noise.
Was Mane trying to force goodbye?
The Senegalese was left out of the Salzburg squad ahead of the Champions League qualifier against Malmö. The accusation: the left winger is said to have broken off the final training session after ten minutes, wanting to force his change.
“It was a long time ago and it wasn’t how it was portrayed in public.
