We lost it ourselves, which was the most sad, the sad Brno captain Pospiš
It’s hard to find words. If I had the other team better, the problems would have suited me better, but I was still convinced that we would manage the match. In front of him, we thought that we could beat ourselves with our heads, which unfortunately happened. I don’t mean to say that after three years of titles we wanted less, but there were situations that could be solved differently. We probably lost it ourselves, which was the most. If the team overplayed us, we would be better accepted, we can analyze it as we wish, but I have a feeling that we lost it easily ourselves.
What exactly do you come across?
A team that is in the forefront for three years cannot get a goal three seconds after scoring, putting the opponent on his feet. It’s as if they scored the goal, let’s just say it’s not 1: 1, but we lose 1: 2. In the end, such an experienced team must watch over it, bring out the opponent. Of course, I’m also very blame for myself, there I had a chance to turn. We could see a little fatigue, which escalated. In short, it was just bad luck.
I am glad that the young boys tasted this parade, says Captain Mařík
Did the results appear not concentrated?
Classic head… It’s hard, we go to the fourth title in a row, we have it in our heads and we feel afraid that something will go wrong and it happens when you think about it. Somehow we called it, the penalty is then lotteries. I feel flat out that taking out the European Championships in the quarterfinals and then in the Superfinals on penalties took me a lot.
You are the forward and the captain of Brno, but you did not kick the penalty either on the Euro in Košice or during the Superfinal in Boskovice. Isn’t that your floor?
First of all, I’m not a penalty player, and since I was in the rep for the first time, I didn’t want to get in there and make myself a hero. I’m quite superstitious and when I somehow helped through England, I didn’t want to cut myself into it against the Romanians. During the Superfinal, we said I would go, but I went until the five. That means if three penalties were given, another option was to go. Honestly, in the last minute of the match, I got cramps in both calves and I found it irresponsible to go for a penalty when I felt that he could barely run to the ball. In retrospect, of course, it annoys me, but unfortunately we have to leave it to someone else for a year. We have to take the cup back with dignity next year.
Can it be a positive motivation for Brno that will kick you?
I hope so, because if it hits us, we had nothing to do for three years at the top. The difference between the team and the heart will only become apparent now that it fails. That is a great promise for me. I don’t want to say at all that I had some rabbit intentions, but I’m over thirty and I tended to the title that it could go away. But yeah, I’ll keep playing…
Have you considered it?
It is clear to me that I will continue and I want to get the title back next year. I hope the boys take the same view. We have a great team, a big heart and we will discuss it with each other. Losing on penalties in the final does not mean that we are not among the top, but next year we want to raise the trophy above any prize.

So we want to end up with a little football to the top?
(Laughter) Of course, one has to think further in terms of health and the like. I’m not saying I intend to end, but after thirty there won’t be many such finals. I really wanted us to do it. That’s how we can do it next year.
They are gradually selling young players to the Brno team, so do you have a promising future?
I have a terrible team, we have a fantastic group and I hope that it will last us like this. Especially if he keeps his health, I’m still going to get around here somehow. (smile)
