Alexander Vezenkov joined the training of the Bulgarian national basketball team and began training with his teammates. The team, led by coach Rosen Barchovski, is preparing in Samokov in front of the Lithuanian home on Friday, July 1st. The qualifying match in Group F for the Men’s World Basketball Championship will be held at 7 pm in Arena Samokov.
On July 4th, Bulgaria will visit Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo. Against these two teams the national losses in their visit to Lithuania with 69:89 and the defeat by Bosnia and Herzegovina in Botevgrad with 75:85.
Vezenkov joined the team’s training a little later, as he finished the later season in the Greek championship with his club Olympiacos.
The teams of Lithuania and Bosnia and Herzegovina occupy the first two places in the standings with an asset corresponding to 4 wins from 4 matches, and 2 wins and 2 losses.
Bulgaria is in third place in the group at the moment with one win and 3 losses, as has the team in the Czech Republic, which is fourth. The basketball players, led by the coach Rosen Barchovski, beat the Czechs as hosts with 79:70, and on the road they lost with 80:83.
