Treatment against the oak processionary
In order to prevent the proliferation of the oak processionary caterpillar, the Green Spaces department will take care of approximately 115 trees in different sectors of the city.
This intervention will take place this Tuesday, June 28 between 5 p.m. and 11:30 p.m.
The oak processionary is a caterpillar that attacks the leaves of trees to feed, causing widespread damage and even dieback of the tree. In order to prevent its proliferation, the Green Spaces service will take care of approximately 115 trees in different sectors of the city.
The oak processionary caterpillar is a real calamity. It has stinging hairs that are extremely allergenic to the skin and can cause great respiratory discomfort. In addition, if animals eat it, especially dogs, it leads to necrosis of their tongue and their death. It is therefore imperative to destroy it.
Brins d’Herbes Services was commissioned by the City to carry out and organize this work.
This work is likely to cause a temporary noise disturbance. The treatment of each tree requires an intervention of 5 to 10 minutes and the City is counting on your understanding.
The products used (only products that can be used in organic farming) are natural and safe.
