the disruptions to be expected this summer in Toulouse
Several works are planned this summer in Toulouse. They will impact car traffic, but also public transport. The detail.
Creation of cycle paths, road maintenance, preparatory work for the arrival of the third metro line… Summer rhymes with construction sites in the pink city. As every year, Toulouse Métropole actually takes advantage of the drop in traffic during the summer period to launch several works.
These last go lead to traffic changes. Indeed, motorists could not access certain roads within the city. This will notably be the case for the Saint-Pierre bridge. Toulouse Métropole is carrying out an experiment before the one-way layout of this axis.
The Saint-Pierre bridge will be closed to car traffic this summer
The Saint-Pierre bridge will thus only be reserved for pedestrians and cyclists from July 15 to August 22. Only emergency and service vehicles can use it. On the left bank, the rue du pont Saint-Pierre will thus be prohibited to car traffic at the level of rue Arnaud Baric.
Street furniture will be installed and circular bicycles on a two-way cycle path. Toulouse Métropole will also develop a new rue du pont Guilheméry and another rue Georges Vedel during the summer. Work on the public transport network is also on the program during these summer holidays.
Preparatory work for the arrival of the 3rd metro line continues
The creation of a partial terminus at Odyssud will in particular disrupt traffic on lines T1 and T2 of the tramway. They will not run from July 25 to August 16, 2022 inclusive. In addition, preparatory work for the arrival of the third metro line is continuing. They will impact road traffic.
Traffic will thus be reduced by several lanes on Allées François Verdier and Rue des Frères Lion from July 4. The rue Frères Lion and rue Bertrand-de-l’Isle will be closed day and night until August 5. From July 4, several lanes will close on Boulevard Marengo and on the Pompidou Bridge. This will slow down traffic.

Power supply works to allow the intervention of the tunnel boring machines will also be carried out. They will take place from June 27 to September 12 on both sides of the Canal du Midi near the future Raynal station. Several lanes and streets will be closed to traffic during this period.
Work will also be on rue Lassalle from July, boulevard de Suisse in September, La Vache and Colomiers station from June 27. Other projects could be set up during the summer. Many others are in progress in Toulouse. You can find them with an interactive map on the Métropole website.
