Summer orientation, over 150 young people at the opening of the Genoese stage
Genoa. The second Ligurian stage of “Summer Orientations“, The event of the Liguria Region dedicated to the orientation of young people and their families, which for the second year touches the whole of Liguria for the entire month of July. Today, through the workshops, more than 150 children and young people aged 8 to 18 were involved.
“Being here means touching the curiosity of the youngest and confirms the importance of initiatives of this type – said the Councilor for School and Training at the inauguration. Ilaria Cavo – Orientamenti Summer wants to show them the value of Stem, subjects related to science and technology, with workshops that also explain to children how important it is to consider a choice of studies that take these addresses into consideration. And when I asked them what intrigued them the most, they raised their hand and had no doubts: science and technology. Their response tells us that this event is already a success. It means that the chosen theme, that of Care-taking care, is already a reality. It is important that the orientation does not stop even in summer because in this season the boys, being more relaxed, can devote themselves to their future choices “.
From the first day i laboratories proposals have been very successful. A group of disabled young people and a group of Ukrainian refugee minors will also take part in the activities.
“Participation in the workshops was very high – added the commissioner Cavo – The boys were able to see closely, among other things, some activities of the Fire Brigade and the State Police, which we will never tire of thanking for their availability”.
A Erzelli there is no shortage of stem and digital laboratories, on crafts, VET, University and ITS. In the Genoese stage, great support also from Liguria Digitale with the Digital School and the laboratories dedicated to drones, 3D printing and online data transmission. Also valuable is the contribution of IIT, the Science Festival, the Municipality of Genoa, Arpal, the Regional Civil Protection, the Genoa Chamber of Commerce. There is also space for orientation workshops to let young people discover their interests, attitudes and learn about the entire training offer and for ‘#imparosicuro’, a workshop to start understanding the concept of flood risk and some measures of self-protection that even children can implement.
Activities at the Erzelli science and technology park will continue until 1 July. The San Giorgio Nautical Institute.
