Dauda Guindo
LV, 19, MLI | Red Bull Salzburg – > FC St. Gallen
19-year-old left-back Daouda Guindo has played eleven competitive games for Red Bull Salzburg so far. However, in order to get a little more minutes of action next season, the Red Bulls are taking their Malian defensive talent to Switzerland. FC St. Gallen secured the services of the 183 cm tall left foot for one season and have no purchase option. Guindo, who will move directly from Mali to Salzburg in January 2021, still has a contract with the Mozart city-dwellers until 2025. However, Salzburg will start the new season with left-backs Andreas Ulmer and Bernardo.
Fernandinho
DM, 37, BH | Manchester City – > Athletico PR
After nine years at Manchester City, the Citizens captain is returning to his native Brazil. Fernandinho moved from Shakhtar Donetsk to Manchester in the summer of 2013 for 40 million euros and then established himself as a pillar of the Brazilian national team, for which he played a total of 53 games. With “City” he won five English championships, having already been seven times Ukrainian champion in Donetsk. With a total of 33 (!) titles under his belt and after 383 games, 26 goals and 33 assists for Manchester City, Fernandinho has now switched to Athletico Paranaense on a free transfer, where his impressive professional career began almost exactly 20 years ago.
Luke Leiva
DM, 35, bra | Lazio Rome – > Gremio
Another Brazilian turns his back on Europe and goes “home”. After 14 years, Lucas Leiva is returning to his regular club Gremio, from which he once switched to Liverpool FC for ten million euros. The defensive midfielder stayed with the Reds for nine years and switched to Lazio in the summer of 2017, where he last played until and made 198 appearances in total. The 35-year-old has now signed a contract until the end of 2023 and will be one of the few veterans in an otherwise very young squad at Gremio alongside Pedro Geromel, Lucas Silva and Elkeson.
Bendeguz Bolla
RV, 22, HUN | Wolverhampton Wanderers – > Locusts
The Hungarian right-back Bendegúz Bolla is moving within Zurich. The 22-year-old, who has already won seven caps for the up-and-coming Hungary, spent last season on loan at Grasshoppers and renewed his loan deal there for a further year. Bolla is actually owned by Premier League club Wolverhampton. With the Wolves, however, he never came. He was signed from Fehérvár a year ago, which brought in €2m for him, but was immediately transferred to Switzerland. Bolla was also recently linked to SK Rapid, who are still urgently looking for a right-back. But it had been clear for a few weeks that Bolla would stay in Switzerland. Rapid must also definitely keep looking for a new right-back.
