The caregivers of the private clinic of Cèdres de Cornebarrieu joined the accelerated strike movement at the beginning of June by the emergency personnel of Purpan, then of Rangueil and joined by the midwives of the Paule de Viguier maternity hospital in Toulouse.

The caregivers’ strike intensifies in Toulouse and its surroundings. The medical, administrative and technical staff of the Cèdres de Cornebarrieu clinic join the protest movement launched at the beginning of June by the emergency services of the Purpan hospital, then rallied by the emergency doctors of Rangueil and the midwives of Paule of Viguier.

Thereby, Cedars employees will demonstrate throughout the day on Tuesday, June 28 in front of the clinic. “The day staff will not show up in post in their service and the night staff will, no doubt, have to stay a little longer so that the management and the managers of the services find solutions for the continuity of patient care”, explain the caregivers in a press release.

The goal of the strikers is to for having pointed out a “lack of human resources”, “poor remuneration” and “too great a proportion between old and new”. The caregivers, like the administrative staff, also point to the differences in salaries “between the clinics of the same Ramsay Health group”, namely the clinics of the Union, Southern Cross and Cedars.

Bonuses and adaptation of the workload

The employees of the clinic are asking for the establishment of a “ loyalty bonus for all (and not only for new arrivals)”, as well as an “increase in the form of bonus of 250 euros net for all staff (not just block staff who already got it some time ago).

In addition, the demanding caregivers that the workload is appropriate depending on the number of employees present in the service. “Recruitment is difficult at the moment and many understaffed services are, despite everything, on an avoided workload, which puts the lives of patients at risk”, they conclude.
