Monkeypox: There is still no data on the arrival of the vaccine. Portugal reaches 373 infected | monkeypox
Just weeks ago, the European Commission confirmed the order of more third-generation vaccines for the monkeypox outbreak in the European Union. For Portugal Promise of Health there were 2700 doses, according to the Directorate-General of the European Union (DGS), with Stella Kyriakides that they would arrive at the end of June. However, at the end of June, there are still no reference data on the delivery of vaccine doses.
The DGS confirms that there is still no data for the reception of vaccines, also informing PÚBL that “the member countries will have a meeting with HERA [sigla em inglês de Autoridade Sanitária de Resposta e Emergência] this week”. HERA is the entity responsible for articulating with the Danish pharmaceutical company Bavarian Nordic (manufacturer of the Imvanex vaccine), being an agency under the supervision of the European Commission.
This Tuesday, Portugal adds eight more confirmed cases of monkeypox (varicella or VMPX) across the continent. The cases are no longer limited to the Lisbon and Tagus Valley region for about a month, however, only this week there were cases in all regions of mainland Portugal.
Those infected are all men, most of them under 40 years old. The transmission of sexual information by contact with potential exposure sites of the first and first visits (sex) can motivate greater sexual communication with the population, disclosed to the public, by health authorities.
There are now almost 50 countries where the virus is not usually present with confirmed cases, most of which are reporting the existence of VMPX for the first time. With more than 400 confirmed cases, Europe accounts for more than 85% of positive diagnoses, with a special incidence in the United Kingdom (910 confirmed cases), Germany (765) and Spain (736). In a line, but also with more than 200 infected, Portugal (373), France (330), the Netherlands (257), the United States (243) and Canada (235).
Regarding delivery, while Portugal awaits the arrival date of the vaccines, there is no notification about who will receive it and how it will be sent. Meets those of the World Health Organization, the Administration is a General Health Organization, the Administration is a General Health Organization, the Administration is a Health Guidance, the Administration and the General Health Organization, the Administration that only patient contacts.
The technical standard has been under study for more than a month by the Vaccination Technical Commission, Infarmed and the National Vaccination Program. Relatively, it is already taking a while, given that other moments like the same or we already intend to, the DGS says that “the advances in the technique being prepared are in line with those of negotiation with HERA in circumstances, the previous procedures have been verified.”
As for administration by health professionals, the DGS guarantees that “as it is a third-generation vaccine, its administration is similar to other vaccines, with no specific training required for administration, which previous vaccines for smallpox (smallpox) required.”
