Man from Berchtesgadener Land dies on A 1 near Salzburg
A man from the Berchtesgadener Land died in an accident on Monday on the A1 motorway near Salzburg in the area of the exit to the airport.
The accident victim is a 55-year-old from the southern district. He was driving in the direction of Vienna in the area of the exit and entrance to Salzburg Airport in the right lane. For an unknown reason, the man veered to the left and tripped against the central concrete guardrail. As a result, the car spun into the right lane, where it collided with a small truck and also crashed into a concrete guard rail to the right of the acceleration lane. The vehicle came to a standstill there. The construction workers present immediately provided first aid. However, the emergency doctor could only determine the death of the 55-year-old. The driver of the small truck was not injured.
Motorway partially closed
