John Kerry is acting as envoy in Portugal on climate issues to investors for a change: appeal “Why are you frustrated?

Former US Secretary of State John Ker is warning investors that they are the worst fallout from the crisis.

The US president’s special envoy for climate issues – a post created by Joe Biden – is in Portugal to participate in the United Nations Ocean Conference, which runs until July 1. But this Tuesday, attention turned to the Investment Forum for the Blue and Sustainable Economy, organized by the Governments of Portugal and Kenya with the aim of seeking financial instruments, investment decisions and businesses linked to the clean oceans of the negative impacts.

Before an audience of investors and political leaders, John Kerry was adamant: “I hate to say this, but the world is not moving fast enough.”

“Why get frustrated? Why do business better. We’re just like attire”said, in the pulpit of the Estoril Congress Center.

Stressing that several meetings, conferences and COPs since the 1980s, the American representative recalled that, in 2018, “scientists warn us that people have 12 years to make and implement measures against the worst consequences of the crisis”.

“My dear ones, there is an urgency to get this right – not 10 years from now, but now. The effort to respond to the climate is not motivated by politics, but by economics and science”, he said, repeated: “And that is why we are here ( at the Oceans Conference). Because the oceans are intrinsically linked to the crisis.

The oceans suffer because of global weather,” he warned.
