Three people torment a mentally disabled woman at Lake Laher – and receive suspended sentences
Hanover. In the summer of 2020, three people repeatedly abused, injured and humiliated a woman with mental disabilities at Lake Laher. For this, the two men (45 and 22 years old today) and the now 28-year-old woman were convicted of dangerous bodily harm at the Hanover District Court.

According to a spokesman for the district court, the accused and the victim met in July 2020 at the lake in the Lahe district. The 52-year-old has been living with a mental disability since an accident and is said to have met the 45-year-old and the 28-year-old for the first time at the quarry pond.
Woman is tied to tree
Victims and accused are said to have met there several times up until September 2020. This resulted in inhumane practices. Among other things, the disabled woman was tied to a tree or she was doused with champagne and syrup. According to the court spokesman, the 45-year-old and the 28-year-old acted “for fun” and filmed their machinations. The victim endured the torture while the accused were filming.

The 52-year-old happened during the bondage. She then reported to a relative about the incidents at Lake Laher. She went to the police. The mother of the youngest accused finally saw the videos and filed a complaint.
suspended sentences and compensation for pain and suffering
The 45-year-old defendant was sentenced to 22 months probation and the 28-year-old to one year probation. Both confess and have to pay the victim a total of 1,500 euros in damages. The 22-year-old was only involved in one crime and was under 19 at the time, which is why the case was heard in a juvenile court. He must participate in a three-month social coaching. The victim did not have to appear in court.
