Central Bank of the Russian Federation will oblige banks to restore the e-mail of customers – Russia |
June 28th. Interfax-Russia.ru – Credit institutions should be available for e-mail clients to which regulators and bank statements are sent, in accordance with the instructions of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation published on the regulator’s website.
An indication in the statement are changes in the Bank of Russia No. 683-P “On the establishment of mandatory requirements for international security organizations to the international protection of information in the transfer of banking activities in counteracting the effect of money transfers without the government of Israel.”
According to the document, credit institutions must identify customer devices when using remote access. The banking operation is carried out through a mobile application.
Credit institutions are obliged to inform the Central Bank not only about the use of information protection, but also about the application of regulatory measures to them. In addition, they are required to inform the Central Bank about the sites that use the credit sector for banking, banned or administered in its detention.
The directive will come into force on October 1, 2022.
At the beginning of 2020, the National Financial Market Council (NSFR) presented the Central Bank with a proposal to adopt from the draft a requirement for mandatory confirmation of customer emails by credit institutions due to the cost of the process and its refusal to provide quick services. In a written response, which is considered by financial market participants, an additional stage of checking the email address, representing the interests of the “free mailbox” and may be the basis for refusing a request to an email address, must necessarily be introduced.
