Bruno Bernard (Métropole de Lyon) vole in the feathers of Laurent Wauquiez (Region)
Elected officials will in particular have to look into the 2021 administrative account, the tourism plan for the mandate and the SRDEII. The regional plan for economic development, innovation and internationalization must set the main economic orientations for 2022-2028 for the community, disseminated by Laurent Wauquiez.
The SRDEII should normally be carried out in consultation with local authorities. Normally. Except that according to our information, the Metropolis of Lyon intends to make its voice heard in the absence of having been consulted sufficiently for its taste.
In a letter dated June 21 and obtained by our editorial staff, the ecologist president Bruno Bernard addresses Laurent Wauquiez to indicate to him initially that no “document close to being finalized, including both the ambitions, the means, the cooperation and the detailed schedule of operationalization that such a plan over 7 years should show, has not been transmitted to us”.
Based on this observation, Bruno Bernard estimates that “this approach (…) casts doubt on your real desire to engage our two communities in collaborations that are essential for improving the quality of life of the inhabitants of the entire Region and to meet, together, the major challenges facing us. confronted”.
The President of the Metropolis then lists a series of files which are the subject of disagreement with the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region: the cut in subsidies to the cultural world of course, but also the “refusal to allocate European ERDF funds to the metropolitan project to develop carpooling lanes on the old A6/A7 sections”the reduction in aid for the conversion of professional vehicles or the withdrawal of support for Worldskills Lyon 2024.
The Greens fight back
“The Metropolis of Lyon needs to be able to count on a Region which gives visibility and reality to its financing and its priorities for action. At the present time, you offer neither , and it is the Grands Lyonnaises and Grands Lyonnais and, beyond that, the inhabitants of the Region, who warn of these delays and reversals”warns Bruno Bernard.
By way of conclusion of his letter to Laurent Wauquiez, the most powerful ecologist in France pronounces his sentence: no support in the state for the SRDEII, roadmap of the regional mandate, which the councilors must vote on this week. “I would like to inform you that we do not respond formally to the draft plans currently under construction. We are already ready to materialize, with the Region, a large number of projects which carry within them the rapid, visible and long-term improvement, the quality of life of the inhabitants of the Metropolis of Lyon”finished Bruno Bernard.
Already two years, relations are increasingly cold or even non-existent on certain issues between the one who is eyeing the Republicans and the Lyon Greens. Until when ?
