18 Lot firefighters blaze at the Fire X-Trem Marseille – Medialot
Capital performance.
On June 4, a stair climbing race was held in Marseille: the Fire X-Trem Marseille. Canceled last year, it was the first edition. The La Marseillaise tower is a playground service with more than 250 individual participants in the morning and 85 pairs in the afternoon.
This course, which consisted of climbing the 721 steps in full fire gear, rangers, F1 helmet, air bottle and 45mm hose on the back, welcomed 18 of our brave Lotois firefighters. Left the day before Luzech with two vehicles made available free of charge by the Departmental Union of Lot firefighters. The 9 pairs from Lot faced firefighters from around twenty departmental fire and rescue services in France.
The Lot firefighters did not make the trip for nothing, since they finished on the 1st step of the podium, in the team race, thanks to Corporals Robin Géant and Thomas Marcou respectively assigned to the alert processing center and at the Cahors emergency fire center. Between them they climbed the 30 floors and the 721 steps of the Marseillaise tower in 7 minutes and 16 seconds, thus ranking ahead of the locals of the stage and emeritus pairs from the Bouches-du-Rhône and the Battalion of Marine Firefighters from Marseilles.
The atmosphere was fine under the Marseille heat and in the ranks of the Lotoise delegation which returned with honors. The Lotois firefighters warmly thank the organizers for the welcome and the quality of the event.
The Lot delegation was made up of firefighters from the fire and rescue centers of Cahors, Cazals, Figeac, Labastide-Murat and Prayssac. Congratulations to the athletes!
