The 60-year-old chairman of the management board of Banque Courtois suffered a heart attack while jogging. Appointed boss of the Toulouse bank in May 2021, he was to steer the merger of the networks of Société Générale and Banque Courtois in the region.
It is with great emotion in economic circles that the announcement of the sudden death of Stéphane Bourdonnec was received. Coming from Société Générale a little over a year ago, the chairman of the management board of Banque Courtois died last Thursday during his jogging. Self-taught, man in the field and appointed to lead the rapprochement between the networks of “Courtois” and Société Générale, Stéphane Bourdonnec is already missed by all internally and externally.
Unanimously appreciated
Discreet by nature but with an assertive character, he was endowed with a rare sensitivity and humanity. He had shown his qualities as a manager, capable of leading the teams behind him on all projects. The Courtois shipyard would have allowed him to reveal it to everyone in the region. The Dispatch sends its most sincere condolences to his family and colleagues.
