Toulouse: recruitment, stage, concerts… a busy summer for the La Lauzeta children’s choir
After a year rich in concerts, La Lauzeta, a well-known children’s choir in Toulouse, is preparing for an active summer with the recruitment of new choristers (even beginners) for next year, a singing scene open to all in the Gers and a trip of the large choir to the Choralies of Vaison-la-Romaine.
The Toulouse Children’s Choir, The Lauzeta, offers in August a singing scene in the Gers to discover this choir created in 1965 in the Pink City. The goal: to sing and have fun… and why not include the choir at the start of the school year in September if your child is seduced.
This course from August 22 to 26 is open to all young people aged 11 to 17 who wish to experience the choir. “There are no prerequisites, you just need to be motivated”, specify the organizers.
Jeanne Sicre, substitute choirmaster of the great choir of La Lauzeta, will supervise the course with the help of a facilitator for free time. A vocal technique coach, Anne-Claude Gérard, will intervene for two days to make the children work individually. A performance is scheduled on the last day of the stay for the parents.
This scene will take place in Masseube (Gers), at the Institut Saint-Christophe which has rehearsal rooms, large green spaces and also an auditorium. Trainees are accommodated on site (1).
The great choir has an appointment this summer at the Choralies of Vaison-la-Romaine
From the large section of kindergarten to Terminale, La Lauzeta recruits new choristers each year for the small choir (large section to CM2) and the large choir (6th in Terminal). Again, anyone can register. There is no audition or selection to enter. On the program of the educational and artistic project of La Lauzeta: many courses, to learn the basics of singing, practice in choir, choreography, theater, and concerts during the year. All styles are rejected by the choir: jazz, classical, contemporary.
This summer, the choristers of the grand choir will have the chance to participate in the 24th edition of the Choralies, from August 3 to 11 in Vaison-la-Romaine in the Vaucluse. For about ten days, around 10,000 choristers – adults and children from all over France and abroad – will meet to share their passion through stages, workshops and concerts under the Provençal sun.
