Toulouse and the Occitanie region launch their financial center
The Occitanie financial club led by the Banque de France and Toulouse Place Financière have just announced their merger. The goal: to provide Occitania with a financial center to better finance businesses.
Toulouse and the Occitanie region will count on the map of France of financial centers. The Occitanie Financial Club, led by the Banque de France, which brought together all players in the banking sector and financial companies, decided to merge with Toulouse Place Financière, created by Pierre d’Agrain. This merger gives birth to “Occitanie Place Financière” whose presidency is chaired by Maëlle Couvreux, financial director of the builder GA Smart Building. This new association, driven by the Occitanie, Toulouse and Montpellier Métropole region and the CCIs aims to bring together in one place all the players in the financing of the regional economy.
A funder’s pact for businesses in Occitanie
“It’s about having a strike force at the service of companies that meet their financing needs. It’s a pact of funders” summarizes Jalil Benabdillah, vice-president Economy of the Region. Already endowed with 50 members, Occitanie Place Financière brings together all the banks, almost all the investment funds, chartered accountants… in order “to allow companies to know the financing solutions available to them and of which they are not not necessarily experts and above all mobilizers,” explained Maëlle Couvreur.
National meeting in Toulouse in November
The ambition is commensurate with the size of the region: “Business financing in Occitania represents 80 billion euros per year. The stakes are colossal” underlined Stéphane Latouche, the regional director of the Banque de France who becomes vice-president of the association with Pierre d’Agrain. A merger that comes at the right time as companies are currently facing strong needs. Their short-term loans have jumped by 62% in Occitania and the strengthening of equity is a permanent subject.
A series of conferences and exchanges are already scheduled to promote meetings, including the meeting of all the financial centers of France in Toulouse in November 2022 for two days.
